Redding Residence

Envisioned as a single story house with low spreading wings that plants itself firmly on the land, this retreat makes simultaneously assertive and sympathetic gestures to the environment. In its massing, the house encloses an entry courtyard while opening itself out to expansive views. Entrance into the retreat is through a stone wall intended as a symbolic threshold which once crossed yields the warmth of a spiritually relaxed personal sanctuary.
