Chuckanut Bay Residence

The site for this home is a 2 acre gently sloping swath of land graced with a unique rock outcropping and integral beach. The owner's desires were twofold: to provide a home that created a peaceful refuge with old world character, and utilize the site to its full advantage while taking in the tremendous views surrounding the home. A simple palette of materials consisting of wood, stucco, glass and stone was selected for their muted tranquility and used in such a way as to celebrate their natural states. A serpentine drive takes one past the shop and vegetable garden, along side the guest house and then to the concealed garage of the home all the while providing glimpses of natures water feature- the bay itself.
