The primary living spaces of the Brown/Rockrise residence are located within a cube that is set upon the foundation of a 50's rambler that used to occupy the site. Contrasting forms of concrete and MDO cladding signify areas in which the old footprint was expanded. Locating the living room, kitchen and dining room in one large great room on the second floor allows them to take advantage of the great views available from its Phinney Ridge location. The eye is drawn upward from the entry to the living spaces by both the flowing expanse of anagre panelling, as well as the curving sweep of the exterior balcony continuing through the house.
