THE BEACH HOUSE

Stone, wood and water bring the outside in to this small Normandy Park waterfront hideaway home for a family of five. Setback restrictions from wetlands on either side, and Puget Sound out front, dictated a compact 1.5 bedroom, 1 bath home. The interior was therefore designed to feel like cabins on a ship, with compact, well-organized spaces that flow from one to the next. Natural materials used both inside and out and judicious placement of glass contribute to a surprising sense of spaciousness.
